Dr Jonathan Kam is a well known eye specialist in Melbourne, who has been in private practice since 2019. He completed his specialist training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne, one of the best eye hospitals in the world. If you have an eye or eyelid condition, we are here to help. Dr Kam is a committed Eye Surgeon and General Ophthalmologist. He is a leader in cataract and lens surgery, and dedicates his time to both public and private work in Melbourne. He holds public hospital consultant appointments at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and with Northern Health.
Dr Kam trained at a number of Australia’s best hospitals and has found that a lot of patients from the public hospitals he has worked at have wanted to keep seeing him. He grew up in Melbourne and always felt that he would come back to practice in this community one day.
Dr Kam regularly sees patients for cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, eyelid/oculoplastic surgery, retinal conditions and neuroophthalmology. He has performed over 3000 successful cataract operations to date, and is highly regarded amongst his peers for his surgery skills and teaching in this area.

Inner East Eye Surgeons is located in Box Hill, and is highly equipped with modern technology. Visual field testing is performed on the Zeiss HFA 3 and lens biometry on the IOLMaster700, and OCT scans on the Topcon Triton . Ellex Lasers are used to perform laser procedures. They are also equipped to perform intravitreal injections and small procedures on site.
